   What positive thing did George W. Bush do for the USA?
   
   It is far too easy to bring up all the horrific things that George W. Bush has done not just to the United States Of America - but also to the rest of the world, and primarily, Afghanistan and Iraq.
   
   What GOOD or POSITIVE thing did the Bush/Cheney Admin do for the citizens of the USA?
   
   I'm a forever Texan, and of course W. Bush was governor here before becoming POTUS.  I think you might actually be surprised to learn that as governor of Texas, George W. Bush actually did some very nice things for the poor of our state - specifically, the NORTHSTAR program in Texas was and is a wonderful thing!

   I have come to be totally ashamed and disappointed in myself for having voted for "W" (1st term).......and now, I am sorry once more, that I have to say, the very best thing he and that rotten, NASTY Cheney ever did, was LEAVE OFFICE.
   I don't usually comment, politically, but I couldn't resist this one.  I have nothing more nor nothing less to say.  So, to anyone who's in an argumentative type of mood?  Do it with someone else.  Effer ain't interested.  Thank you.

   He lowered tax rates. Even Obama has agreed with how good that was by extending the Bush Tax Cuts twice himself.

   Bush initiated the "War on Terror" after the 9/11 attacks and led the hunt for Osama Bin Ladin.  Just because Iraq and Afghanistan weren't able or willing to root out the organized bands of terrorists there, doesn't mean Bush did anything wrong by taking the war there!
   
   He also stood good moral ground against the liberals who tried to insert their fake civil-rights agenda into politics while America was preoccupied with the war on terrorism.  They didn't give a whit about getting rid of terrorist organizations, they only cared and care about their own manipulations.   Bush cut them off with just a few words, and continued to focus on America's national security.   Obama has done the opposite on all counts.
   
   So, Bush stands as twice the man who has replaced him in the White House, and better than Clinton ever was as well.
   
   Other than those good things, I'm sure there are many others Bush has done.  But then, at the time, a citizen could go about his daily life knowing there was a good strong man in charge of this Nation, and thereby leave things up to our Congress and President.  Today, it's not so.  We are forced to try to police our leaders ourselves because they're not dependable.

   President George W. Bush recognized and never forgot the greatness of this Nation. He didn't go around the world apologizing for the USA or talking down about our country. When he and Mrs. Bush would go to visit the troops and wounded warriors, he didn't turn them into photo opportunities. President Bush stood up to the terrorists who attacked the USA. He initiated the hunt for those who brought death to our shores.
   
   For President Obama to crow about making the "tough" decision to take out Osama Bin Laden is inappropriate. It wasn't a tough decision to make. Any person sitting in the Office of the President of the United States at the time OBL was found would HAVE to give the "go-ahead" or bury the fact that he was found on that person's watch. That "tough" decision should have been a no brainer.
   
   President G.W. Bush wasn't perfect. Back in 2004, he and the Republicans started to investigation the housing/banking bubble and were deflected by the Democrats. Bush should have moved that investigation forward.
   
   I would take President G.W. Bush over President Obama any day of the week. This is not racism on my behalf. It boils down to their politics.

   I don't think it matters because the negative shit totally outweighs any small positive thing. It's amazing that these idiots writing things positive still appear brainwashed. Makes one see the dumbing down really did work. Vote NO in 2012, let's try again!

   George Bush was a wonderful president.  Did he have flaws?  Yes.  Were all of his decisions perfect?  No.  That said, I never felt unsafe in my own country with him at the helm.   He put laws into place that allows us to keep a pulse on terrorists.  People seem to forget...if they are allowed to permeate our country, Regardless of what we want with regard to education and the economy...it won't matter.  He was a strong leader...we weren't laughed at like we are now.  He said what he meant, and meant what he said.  He also lowered taxes and brought many minorities into the forefront, and has given more money for Aids than any other President.  He works (as does his wife) to provide women security and education in middle eastern countries....Yes...good man, good President.  I miss his leadership every day.

   Whoever owned stock in oil or weapons manufacturing made a ton of money from his warmongering. Those people found it quite positive.
   
   Bullies and torturers still get to ply their trade without consequence at Guantanamo. If we didn't put those sociopaths in the armed services at GTB, we would have to deal with some of them on the Mainland. I almost feel like I can walk out at night.
   
   Anyone taking the airlines are subject to being groped by TSA due in large part to the Patriot Act. Who doesn't like a good groping, huh? Especially when it happens to your kids.

   President George W. Bush did a whole lot of positive things for the United States of America.
   
   For one thing, and quite opposite of what is the case with Barack Hussein Obama, he served in the Office of President with class and dignity.
   
   And unlike what Obama continually does, he never blamed his predecessor for the problems that he had to deal with.
   
   Bush never stood around whining, "I inhertited this problem, and I inherited that problem."

    He tried but failed. Of course he succeeded in becoming a modern 'Don Quixote' fighting an imaginary enemy for which the common Americans paid with their lives in some other country.

    This will take some effort, but I will give it a shot. First, I'm sure that Africa appreciates the increased aid given under Bush to fight AIDS. Second, I'm sure that elderly Americans appreciate the increased access to prescription drugs. It was also a good thing for him to tell Americans that we must not repeat the mistakes of the Japanese-internment camps in the days after 9/11. And finally, I'm sure that some of the stepped-up efforts to fight terrorism had some success.
    
    Unfortunately, in my mind, the negatives outweigh the positives. He promoted fiscal irresponsibility that continues to this day, and the Iraq war did more harm than good. His lack of concern for the environment also set our country (and planet) back a bit. I do not, however, hold him exclusively responsible for all of the bad things to come out of the 2000's, particularly the collapse of the financial system. Few people on either side of the aisle pushed for any significant financial reforms. After all, who wants to be labeled as anti-housing?
