Police Murders in the United States of America

Unarmed citizens of the United States of America are being murdered by United States Police officers at an alarming rate. What is it that has caused so much violence against citizens of the United States of America by law enforcement officers, who are supposed to be sworn to Serve and Protect the citizens of this nation? Well, for starters, it's the Drug War, and the Prohibition against drugs, which only serves the purpose of furthering the profits of criminals like Dick Cheney, who've invested in companies like GEO Corp, which builds prisons at a profit for warehousing of United States citizens. What happens with Dick Cheney's profits then? Well, those profits then go into the pockets of lobbyist and politicians who promise their frightened citizens that they will be "tough on crime." With help from a mass media that is also heavily invested in by the same politicians sans morality, the situation just continues to get worse, and escalate. You and I are conditioned to accept the fact that we could be murdered by police in no knock raids; and if the police are at the wrong house. . . . . .well, that's just a shame, isn't it?

The information and the victims of police murder found in the link below are all fairly old, I had this information on another site, and had posted it years ago. The problem, however, has not improved at all, in fact, it's gotten much, much worse. You see, we live in a police state, where fear is preached over, and over, and over again through our criminal media, and the result is that more and more police departments more resemble infantry than they do law enforcement; and the Obama administration has pushed for more surveillance of the citizenry. Why is it that we tolerate such things? It's because while these laws and petitions to the courts are presented, you, Joe Q. Citizen are more than likely busy watching television, or perhaps at a sporting event; and you do not care until such things concern you directly. More laws will be passed, a failed prohibition will continue, more Mexican drug cartels will commit violence North of the Southern border, and then the media will cause a great big scare. All the while, Dick Cheney and investors in GEO corp's private prison industry grow wealthier, and more innocents are killed by police here on American soil.

But please, don't pay me any mind. I'm fine! Just go ahead and watch more football, basketball, baseball; or maybe Dancing with the Stars. Enjoy the holiday season, and nevermind the other, unfortunate families whose loved ones were shot down like dogs in no knock raids. Hey, they aren't your relatives, are they?

Aye. I call them pigs(but they dont appreciate that to thier face). To me, anytime you give some high school drop out a badge and gun, and more importantaly power over you that they will take out on you because they got bullied in thier starless career in high school...I dont trust them, even though they are a necesity. I remember seeing shit on the dash board cams recording a cop who was abolutely oblivious to Constitution. He thought he was above it. Power corrupts...

God bless good policemen all over the world. But when a cop is bad they really stink. They erode our confidence and fester unrest. There are too many stinkers that bully and kill. There are so many youtube videos of excessive violence. America is asleep and will remain so. America will be at the "ball-games". Lebron James and his ilk will be watched. The football heads will be busy until the Stupid Bowl. These arrogant "kings" reflect arrogant lawyers in our courts, arrogant businessmen who open sweatshops all over the world and overcharge the customers, etc. No America is too asleep at the wheel and awash in it's own arrogance to care. Sorry- I have a bad attitude about what the American slaves will stand against. God bless Wes! Great message!

A friend of mine once said,"Without courtrooms, bars and churches....this country would die." Crime is big business and it constantly grows. The,"Oh well" attitude of the justice system....when innocent people are killed...is not only pathetic, it shows the truth that they are more concerned with money than safety of the public.

We need police officers who are absolute professionals...not a bunch of gung ho buffoons whose only preparations are a police academy certificate and an ego stiffy.

In my area....a young man was shot to death by police...he had a glass of pop in his right hand while coming down the stairs to see about the commotion. A man who was cleaning guns at a residence was shot numerous times and killed during a raid...at the wrong address. They guy I quoted above....his house was raided by SWAT...they found a half ounce of marijuana. A female cop was standing in the living room cradling a shotgun that was pointed at his three kids on the couch. He told the lead investigator,"Could you tell Rambitch to point her gun away from my kids?"

We don't need more cops....we need professional officers of the law with extensive and constant training.

Thanks for writing this hub....it is a very serious problem and needs to be addressed....immediately.

Thank you for this hub. It's amazing, and true --- except, I don't think we can blame police brutality on sports fans, or TV watchers. I think many of them care as much as we do, and are willing to do whatever they can to help eliminate police brutality.

Police have the major responsibility for transporting people accused of mental "illness" to psych institutions. Some --- actually many --- of these people die during said "transport". Of course, cops shouldn't be touching --- ambushing, really, and beating down --- frightened, vulnerable, disabled people in the first place. It's scary.

The worst that will happen to the cop is a month vacation with salary ---- at taxpayers' expense. And, even that is unlikely.

Yep, and the absolute power that police officers have in many situations corrupts absolutely, Christopher. Luckily. . . .I've had surprising run ins with surprisingly kind officers; but it's just so much easier to remember the corrupt ones; of course the way I got may ass beaten by four large cops one day, who I'm certain were just giddy for such an opportunity, not to beat on me, but to beat someone. . . .It's much easier for me to remember THAT incident.

Thanks, Micky Dee; I do hope. . . .I'm always hoping that some of my ideas get stuck in the heads of somebody who'd never considered them. All I can do is try.

"Rambitch" pointing weapons at children for a bit of marijuana. . . . .That's the most perfect scene that all at once describes the whole problem.

Yeah, me personally, I think police officers should be required to have A WHOLE LOT MORE EDUCATION, and also, a whole lot more pay. There should also be a hell of a lot fewer of them.

Hey HuntGoddess, yeah; an associates degree and police academy hardly equip someone to recognize or deal with mental illness. . . . .or much more than traffic tickets, really. But America doesn't care if cops kill somebody, realize a fuck up; chunk a "throw down" weapon from the trunk of the cruiser on em; and hide behind that blue wall of cowardice.

In my city, cops have to have a bachelor's degree, at least. Many have more than that, though. They're not responsible for recognizing mental "illness". They just get a "body attachment" from the court. It's like a warrant. They're supposed to take the person to the institution. Of course, the disabled people are frightened. It's all based on violence and physical coercion. Is that supposed to cure or heal anyone? They sometimes end up dead before they get to the institution. They also frequently end up dead after they get there, as well.

Nobody cares about these people. The mental "health" system is essentially a death camp anyway. It's run by drug companies whose only business is to capture tax dollars in exchange for their dangerous, painful, deadly, debilitating drugs.

Wesman Todd Shaw profile image

Wesman Todd Shaw Hub Author 17 months ago

Bachelor's degree! Wow! It's certainly true that none of the medications that I've ever taken did much good for me. I've heard people say things though, like "Lexpro saved my life!" etc. I'm going to do a hub about all of the meds I've had before, but yeah; I'm not sure I was ever really "ill" to begin with.

I take the stance that while it is true I think there are many examples of police who abuse the power they are given to enforce the law of the land, that the majority of our police are good, and honest people who are in the job to serve and protect, just as the motto often plastered on the sides of their cars suggests. I also believe that we need to draw hard lines between the drug war, drugs in general, and the crimes that are perpetrated as a result of the culture of drugs. It's not a simple thing IMO. It's a multi-faceted problem which is a different problem for different reasons in different environments. I generally hold the stance that marijuana, for example, should be legalized. I simply do not believe it's a harmful drug any more than alcohol is a harmful drug. When we get into harder things such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and other things of that nature I think we're talking about an entirely different matter. The folks engaged in THIS activity should be treated much differently, just like an alcholic would be treated differently, perhaps, with regard to his imbibing of alcoholic beverages. The damage for the alcholic is greater, and the impact the alcholic has societally, and in regard to his family, is far more negative potentially than one who drinks socially. It is not the use that is the problem. It is the abuse. While alcohol is addictive, and I think to an extent so is marijuana addictive, it is not AS addictive as some of these other harder drugs. And so they should be treated very differently. That line between the two should be clear. The reason for the difference in treatment, for that reason, should also be clear. The job of our police, and the importance their role plays in our lives should also not be taken too lightly. Not every government agency is out to get us.

Wesman Todd Shaw Hub Author 17 months ago

Hey Jim, glad to see you! You said it all when you said,

"It's not so simple."

Not claiming to know it all here, but I've spent tons of time in rehabs and sober meetings, and huge amounts of time around chemicals and addicts. What never fails to amaze me is how differently different chemicals affect people, different people.

As far as addiction is concerned, any food or chemical or substance can be psychologically addictive, but I think facts MIGHT be that marijuana, and meth. . . .are not physically addictive at all. Meth in particular has a strong psychological pull, but you can bet the farm that you're body will be shouting "THANK GOODNESS!" when you quite using the stuff

I said "you," but you know I'm not referring to you personally.

Of course I've met some really great people that are police officers, and even during "police encounters." Whats sad is that the majority of them that I meet under any circumstance. . . .just seem like bullies to me.

Springboard profile image

Springboard Level 5 Commenter 17 months ago

As do the ones I usually encounter seem to be a bit like bullies. Interestingly enough, though, I've observed, now having police stations on my route as I go about my pest control duties, that my interaction with police in that role vs. say, as speeder, is much different indeed. That's a dynamic I would like to explore more.

As for Huntgoddess' assuming that a bachelor's degree qualifies anyone for any position is a misnomer IMO. When it comes to being a cop, you are either meant to be one or not. Education is very overrated if you ask me and has nothing to do with qualification as a whole. There are plenty of bad doctors, corrupt lawyers, and inept managers out there in this world to prove that fact hands down.

Yeah, you're damn sure right about education being over rated. It's almost an elitist badge of honor, that very expensive piece of paper behind the glass mounted on the wall. . . . but there I go speaking in generalizations

Great and truthful hub Todd. A few years back when our local unlawful enforcement team got some $ for what they called homeland security guess what the first thing they spent it on was? A new SWAT van fully loaded. To make it even more insane the first time the damn thing was used was to raid a local downtown hotel that was known to house pot smokers and prostitutes. Mission accomplished, 2 50 year old prostitutes were arrested. WTF? Then of course there were the mentally disturbed guys that were shot to death. One wielding a sword and the other a brick. All that happened to the cops was they were sent to take some training to deal with mentally ill folks. Fuck cops, I'm tired of hearing most of them are good. I haven't run in to many that fit that bill. Peace!! Tom

Wesman Todd Shaw profile image

Wesman Todd Shaw Hub Author 17 months ago

Yep, there you go.

"Nice job, guys, glad those two ancient whores are off the street. Our streets are much safer now!"

Cops killing mentally ill people is so epidemic these days that I don't even know where to start, but start I will. I'll shout and scream all that I can. I don't know if it does any good or not.

Uh huh, nice use of funds, they should have bought a used Bradly personnel carrier or something. . . why not a .50 caliber sub machine gun too? You know, those terrorist and their deadly swords and bricks call for it. We can't let our boys in blue be at risk!

Yeah, fuck the idea that "cops are good;" show me "good," and I'll call it that, but most of what I see ain't no good.

Well, I know all about those food addictions - these dang donuts (which I am eating as I read this) are like part of my circulatory system now. Why don't they outlaw these darn things??? But back to the hub, I agree whole heartedily, of course I am an anti-government type person anyway and I don't like anyone telling me what I can and cannot do, especially at gunpoint or law-book-point. The more things you make illegal, and enlist people to uphold those rules, the more you drop back into something equalling the Pharisee/Roman alliance. One judges morality and the other society, and in the end, they do what they want, and everyone else is scared to breathe wrong. And what race is currently filling more of the jail cells in this country? What race has so many more young men with minor drug charges on their records to make it harder to get gainful employment? What race are the republicans more scared of and what to disenfranchise if possible? You need look no further than the guy in the white house who probably won't be there much longer. I hear all this fear of communism and socialism but little talk of the tyrannical police state Cheney, Palin and the rest of them would like to institute. If they keep enough people scared of inner city drug use, those recreational users in the suburbs will jump on board and give them all the authority they want to wipe out Americans whom they have already deemed unworthy of their rightful citizenship. You see how easy it is for me to just go off. It's a good thing I don't believe in violence - Lord knows where this could go. Peace

GO OFF GO OFF GO OFF SOME MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you started off with the donuts. . . .I though, "oh crap, A.M. is a cop. . . .and now I've pissed him off!"

Yeah, over a third of black men are behind bars. . . .but if they aren't just more criminal than the rest of us, and they are not, then it must be institutionalized RACISM, which it is, but we can't say THAT either, but I do!

It isn't always shootings, police rape people just like other people do. They also steal money from the people they arrest, just like many other people would do if given the opportunity.

Some cops are truly good people, but most are effed up just like everyone else. We treat them with unearned respect and give them our unearned trust and far too many officers take advantage of that.

And don't talk to the police! Be proud of your first amendment rights and don't allow yourself to be intimidated into allowing those rights being stolen from you.

With everything within me, I wish a more painful death upon those officers than they gave to those dogs in that one video. Loving, faithful dogs, who only sought the protection of their loving non violent family, and those pigs shot them dead in front of that child.

I only wish I knew the names and addresses of officers who have raped, and I wish that I had the money to pay them all visits, that would be their very last.

This was one issue which my association with you back on myspace helped changed a good deal of my thinking. There are far too many laws on the books and I beleive that is just a mater of making everyone a criminal so they can bust who they want when they want..

In the reading i have done about killer cops for the past year I have noticed they have an odd hatred of dogs. In one instance a cop was answering a call to a house burglary. They went into the neighbors back yard looking for the suspect. The neighbor had a dog tied at the back of his yard. He was coming out to calm his dog down when the cop stepped into the back gate. The dog was trestrained and 30 feet away but the cop pulled her weapon and killed the dog any ways. Of course the inquiry found her free of wrong doing. Another vieo shows a deputy pulling up in front a womans house, gets out of the car and walks to the front of his car. The lady had a very freindly airdale which came out to greet the visitors. The cop pulled his weapon, shot the dog, then got in the car and left without ever going to the door.In another incident they chased a dog back into a burning house to be bunred alive.

And now they have SWAt teams serving almost all types of court papers. They are no longer used strictly for high profile situations like hostage taking. Hell they used SWAT to serve papers for defaulted student loans. and raiding a health food store over illegal cheese.

We're in a police state that is basically being wholesaled to the highest bidders.

I can't wait for the cops in one city to get pissed at the cops in another city - and then we'll have highly entertaining cop wars.

KC Santiago profile image

KC Santiago Level 2 Commenter 8 months ago

Damn, I will find it but that actually took place between state and county law enforcement. I think it was Tennessee. They have some confiscation law where they can "legally" take whatever the cop on the scene decides is too much money for a person to be carrying in a traffic stop. I found a video of state police and county deputies going off on each other. When I find it again I will post it for you. It's somewhere deep in my FB archives.

I heard of that bizarre money stealing scheme the armed gang in blue that dominates Tennessee had going on.

That's an ideal circumstances for armed badge gang warfare!

Hey, the more armed badge blue uniform gang bangers shoot each other - the more the citizens of the nation win!

They may be a necessary evil but I would suggest a way of fixing this, automatically any policeman who commits a crime has his sentence doubled, if he used his status as a policeman in any way to aid this crime the punishment is quadrupled. Its a start anyway.

Wesman Todd Shaw profile image

Wesman Todd Shaw Hub Author 4 months ago

That works for me, Josak, but that pathetic prohibition or "drug war" is the real problem.
